Sydney has some great bars. Tonight, we tried @henrydeanelounge @stitchbar and @burrow_bar

We were treated to a spectacular storm. Without gates or fences, being slightly raised with a clear view to the horizon, Boulders Bush Lodge was the perfect place to photograph it.

📸 Each lighting bolt was spectacular in its own right, but I wanted to showcase the entire storm, so this is a combination of images. The sky was a mess of light and shadow, and so I’ve left it that way.

The alarm sounds gently at 3:50 AM. That leaves just enough time to make a pot of plunger coffee, get my clothes on, pack snacks, water and camera gear into the car and head out of the camp gate for our drive by 4:30 AM.

The adrenalin slowly brings life to my body. What will we see today? Each day is different, so you never know. That is the thrill. Will it be a Hyena, Lion, or the elusive Malochite Kingfisher? Who knows? I am completely open to whatever comes our way, but first, that sunrise.

I’m meant to be looking for wildlife, but I can not remove my gaze from the horizon. The sun triumphantly materialises as if by divine commandment. So arresting is its presence, a Giraffe strolls elegantly by unnoticed by this sunstruck photographer.

The sun rises slowly until it sits snuggly under the arching branch of a lifeless tree, and I decide that it is time. It's time to see what else this glorious world has in store for me.
