Over the years I have tried smaller, more compact camera gear but I was never happy with the results so I travel with my full-framed DSLR and prime lenses. Whilst it can be tempting to bring a bunch of lenses, I’ve found that two are sufficient to get the type of results I need. It all boils down to the intended purpose of your final images. If you only need Instagram quality, then probably a compact camera will suit your needs. For me, I want print-quality images that may also be used in publishing.
